HomeSmart’s Matt Widdows and Ashley Bowers Ranked Most Powerful and Influential Executives in the Residential Real Estate Industry

The Swanepoel Power 200 Honors Top Executives for 2022

Scottsdale, Ariz.— The Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200) has recently announced its list of the top 200 influential real estate executives in the country. Known as the definitive ranking of the residential real estate industry’s powerful leaders, SP 200’s list includes HomeSmart founder and CEO Matt Widdows, who has been listed nine consecutive years, and President Ashley Bowers, who celebrates her first time breaking into the list’s top 200 notable executives.

“I am humbled to be recognized on the SP 200 and in such good company,” said Widdows. “With everything going on around us, affecting how we work, how we live and how people buy and sell homes, we have managed to not only maintain our level of business but rather take it to new heights.”

“I too am incredibly honored to be listed among the accomplished executives on the Swanepoel Power 200,” added Bowers, who is one of only 47 women on the list of honorees. “This achievement was made possible by our company’s dedicated agents, franchisees and staff, who have dedicated their work to weather any circumstance and turn challenging times into successful ones for their clients, their business and the community.”

Noted leaders earn their spot based on a variety of criteria, including achievements and successes of executives throughout the previous year, the size of the company they lead, personal leadership style and the resources they have under their purview.

Under the combined leadership and vision of Widdows and Bowers, HomeSmart has grown to be a dominant force in real estate sales and technology while creating multiple revenue opportunities for agents and brokers seeking their own success. In 2021, HomeSmart expanded its agent count through organic and acquired growth and extended its service offerings, launching both a revenue-sharing program and a health benefits program for agents.

Widdows launched the company in 2000 as a real estate brokerage built to make the home buying and selling process easier and more efficient for all parties involved. With both Widdows and Bowers at the helm, HomeSmart has since become the nation’s 7th largest real estate enterprise. The company has operations in 49 states across 208 offices with nearly 25,000 agents.

The SP 200, created and published by real estate consulting firm T3 Sixty, and now in its ninth year, is a formal annual analysis and ranking of the real estate industry’s 200 most powerful and influential leaders.
